I came across these campaign posters for the metro newspaper, they are incredibly simple yet very effective.
The capital-lettered, bold, simple statement is enough to register in the mind of the passer-by that this is a free newspaper and that they should 'grab one'. It invites the audience to 'dip in' and have a look inside, while informing the reader that it is easy 'light reading' for on the go.
The above posters contain the quotation, 'Take it while its hot'. The metro newspaper has been placed within everyday items that people would associate with being 'on the go'. For example during the commute to work grabbing a cup of coffee and a newspaper.
These campaign posters have given me an insight on the important elements required to complete an effective advert.
Such as:
1.) the newspaper logo in clear view
2.) a tag-line or a slogan3.) an image
